Balance straight-line speed against confidence under braking and traction on exit. Start from an in-game preset, save a copy, then compare one adjustment at a time with consistent fuel and assists.

Before choosing your race setup

Compare several clean laps, not just the quickest one.
If kerbs unsettle the car, first compare a more conservative line before changing suspension.
Check braking with race fuel and your normal assists. A time-trial marker may not transfer.
For rain, establish a fresh baseline on the appropriate tyres. Check parc fermé restrictions before garage changes.

Controller and wheel users can start with the same preset. Tune for the handling problem, rather than assuming the device requires a particular number.
